Washington — Today, Fix Our Senate released the following statement after the latest election results made it clear that Vice President Biden will be the next president of the United States and that the Senate majority will remain unclear until January.

“While the Senate majority is still up in the air, one thing is crystal clear: People across the country overwhelmingly rejected the Trump-McConnell government and strongly support President-elect Biden’s agenda to restore our democracy and make progress on the critical issues facing our nation,” said Eli Zupnick, spokesman for Fix Our Senate. “Depending on the outcome of the Georgia runoff elections, Senate Democrats will represent 20 million more Americans with 48 senators, or 41 million more Americans in a 50-50 split. Once again, only one thing stands in the way of the will of the clear majority of people: Sen. Mitch McConnell and his broken and dysfunctional Senate. No matter which party controls the Senate, we will continue to hold Mitch McConnell accountable for his anti-democratic manipulation of his chamber, and call on all senators to move quickly  to fix his broken Senate and deliver results for workers and families across the country.”
