Washington, D.C. — Today, Fix Our Senate announced a new ad that shines a spotlight on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s culture of corruption in the U.S. Senate.

The ad, titled "Corrupt," will run on digital platforms in Washington, D.C. for the next two weeks. The ad exposes how the Senate’s response to the coronavirus pandemic underscores the culture of corruption McConnell has created over the course of his tenure in the Senate.

First, revelations emerged that Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler profited off the pandemic, using privileged information to inform their stock transactions while telling the American people the coronavirus was nothing to be concerned about.

Then, McConnell created a half-trillion dollar slush fund for corporations and special interests in the CARES Act, neglecting the needs of families and small businesses to appease his corporate donors.

Now, McConnell continues to play political games to please his special interest donors, working to confirm judges that want to take healthcare away from millions — all while frontline healthcare workers don’t have the support they need.

“Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s corruption has reached new heights at a time when, more than ever, the American people need their leaders to put them first. Instead, McConnell puts profits for special interests and personal profits for Senators first, while millions are unemployed and suffering,” said Joshua Karp of Fix Our Senate. “It’s time for Mitch McConnell to end his corruption and put the American people first.”

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s corruption is out of control.

First, McConnell turned a blind eye to Senators profiting from stock sales while America fights coronavirus.

Then, McConnell put handouts for big corporations ahead of real assistance for regular Americans.

And now McConnell pushes judges who want to get rid of healthcare for millions.

His corruption continues while doctors and nurses can’t get the supplies they need and millions are unemployed.

Enough is enough. Tell Mitch McConnell: end the culture of corruption in the Senate.
