Washington, D.C. — Today, Fix Our Senate released the following statement on Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s continued threats to filibuster the Senate organizing resolution that would allow Democrats to take control of committees and begin to move the agenda that voters across the country just supported.
“In his first act as minority leader Senator McConnell has managed to unite the Democratic caucus and highlight exactly why he can’t be trusted to keep the filibuster as a weapon of partisan gridlock and obstruction,” said Eli Zupnick, spokesman for Fix Our Senate. “By threatening to filibuster a routine resolution that simply affirms that Democrats won the majority and can now lead committees, Sen. McConnell has made it crystal clear, to anyone with any remaining doubts, that his only goal is to undermine, delay, and block the Biden agenda that the American people just voted for.”
