WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Fix Our Senate released the following statement from spokesman Eli Zupnick on the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling upholding voting rights restrictions in Arizona.
"The Supreme Court just handed Republicans a free pass to restrict the voting rights of Senator Sinema's constituents in Arizona, and now there is only one question: What is Senator Sinema going to do about it?
"This ruling dramatically increases the pressure on Senator Sinema to stand with Arizona voters and move quickly to pass strong voting rights legislation currently being blocked by Senator McConnell's partisan filibuster. If anything should persuade Senator Sinema to prioritize voting rights and democracy over an outdated and abused Senate rule, this latest egregious ruling should be it.”
