Washington, D.C. — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is already making good on the promise he made earlier this week to the Washington Post to not slow down his appointment of extremist judges who are looking to strike down the Affordable Care Act — even in the middle of a deadly health care crisis.
REMEMBER: McConnell took a long weekend last month in the middle of the crisis, wasting valuable days on Speaker Pelosi’s Phase 2 rescue bill for frontline healthcare workers and workers who were losing their jobs. He took this long weekend to attend a party for 37-year old radical conservative Judge Justin Walker.
NOW: Walker, a judge from the Western District of Kentucky who was deemed “not qualified” for his current position by the American Bar Association — a position in which he’s served just 5 months — has been nominated to the D.C. Circuit.
Walker is a former Kavanaugh clerk and less than 10 years out of law school and has never even tried a case. He was extremely vocal in his support of Justice Kavanaugh’s nomination, conducting more than 160 interviews defending Kavanaugh’s character.
As the Washington Post reports, McConnell “knows Walker’s grandfather and first met Walker when he interviewed the future majority leader for an article for his high school newspaper. McConnell had previously recommended Walker for the Western District seat in January.”

When he should be helping hospitals with resources that frontline health care workers need and supporting Americans out of work, McConnell is fighting for those profiting off the crisis,” said Joshua Karp of Fix Our Senate. “McConnell’s self-dealing and flagrant corruption is infecting our judiciary, and making it even harder for Americans to get a fair shake. It’s past time for Republicans to reject McConnell’s culture of corruption, stop being complicit, and put Americans first.”
