Today, Fix Our Senate released the following statement from spokesman Eli Zupnick in response to Sen. Sinema’s floor speech on Senate rules.
“Senator Sinema’s defense of the broken status quo is wrong on the substance, wrong on the history, and completely ignores how the filibuster is currently being used and abused.
“Senator Sinema will face a clear choice: vote to pass legislation she called ‘critical to the health and vitality of our democracy’ or vote with Sen. McConnell to protect a Senate rule. This may not be the choice a filibuster-defender would like to face, but it’s the one in front of her and it shouldn’t be a difficult one.”
